Biological Soil Assessment
Microscopy-based analysis to reveal what your soil needs to thrive.
As a Certified Soil Food Web Lab Technician, I assess the full biology of your soil—bacteria, fungi, protozoa and nematodes. This analysis shows what’s present, what’s missing, and how your soil’s biology aligns with your goals and the plants you want to grow.
Because every plant has an ideal fungi:bacteria ratio based on natural succession, I help you understand what your current ratios mean and what changes will best support your crops.
What’s Included
On-site sampling (extra cost) or simple instructions to collect and mail your own samples
Full microscopic analysis
Clear report an d interpretation of results tailored to your land and crops
Recommendations for restoring biological balance
Perfect For
Home gardens seeking to increase productivity naturally
Market gardens transitioning to regenerative practices
Small farms wanting to reduce input costs
School and community gardens
Anyone curious about soil life!
The Outcome
You’ll receive an understanding of your soil’s current biological state and a practical roadmap for regeneration—supporting better soil structure, water retention, and plant health.
For hands-on support with rebuilding biology—compost, teas, or regenerative design—see the next offerings.
FULL ASSESSMENT of microbial composition including Fungi:Bacteria ratio and nematode and protozoa counts.
BASIC ASSESSMENT showing presence or lack of key organism groups. Perfect if you want to know what is in your compost and make sure it is working for you! Or to get an idea of where your soil is in natural succession.

Compost & Applications
Composts and compost extracts to support soil biology and kickstart regeneration.
I help you apply compost methods suited to your land and crops — often combining approaches like Johnson-Su, thermophilic, and vermicompost — to increase diversity and fungal biomass. From finished compost, we can also make compost teas and extracts for foliar sprays or soil drenches, multiplying beneficial microbes and covering a large area from just a small amount.
Service Options
Done-With-You (Training): Learn to build and apply composts and teas for your site. I guide you through the process and help design efficient structures within your budget.
Done-For-You (Service): I support the implementation of composts and extracts on your land. Results take time, but these practices build long-term soil health and resilience.
What You’ll Receive
Guidance on compost methods suited to your soil and crops
Assistance building compost structures and tea systems
Production of compost teas and extracts for targeted application
Recommendations for timing and application
Records to track progress
Expected Outcomes
Over time, these practices can improve soil structure, water retention, plant vigor, and long-term biological resilience. While results may vary depending on site conditions and management, supporting soil life with composts and extracts is a key step toward regenerative, thriving land.
Regenerative Design & Coaching
Holistic garden and farm planning rooted in permaculture, regenerative farming, and syntropic principles.
Regeneration, to me, is about creating conditions where life can steadily return—where the soil grows healthier each season and where all species - plants, animals & humans - are supported. Drawing on my experience with small-scale gardens, community plots, school projects and demonstration sites for education, I work with you to design spaces where biology can survive, thrive, and keep improving over time.
What I Offer
Design & Planning Support:
Site observations and mapping (water, sun, soil, slopes, microclimates)
Soil building methods
Planting schemes to increase biodiversity
Integration of perennial and annual systems, including food forests
Water conservation techniques
Nursery planning
Training for gardeners or staff, if needed (English & Swahili)
Coaching & Follow-Up:
Change is a process, and having support along the way can make it much more manageable. Through weekly or monthly check-ins, I help you adjust strategies, solve challenges, and stay connected to your goals. This service pairs with my compost applications and biological soil assessments for a truly holistic approach.
Ideal For
Gardens or farms transitioning toward regenerative practices
New homesteads and farm startups
Demonstration or education sites
Community gardens wanting long-term resilience
The Vision
For your land to become easier to care for over time, supported by a healthy, functioning soil food web that increases productivity, resilience, biodiversity and nutrient density. A place where you can grow your own food with confidence, connect to the earth, have fun and bring family and community to share in the abundance!
Workshops & Partnerships
Hands-on trainings for farmers, schools, and grassroots organizations.
I offer practical, approachable workshops designed to make regenerative methods easy to understand and apply. My work with schools, community gardens, and farmer groups has shown me that simple, field-based learning often creates the most lasting impact. Each workshop is shaped in collaboration with the hosting organization and honours local knowledge and context.
Workshop Formats
One-Day Workshops
Focused, accessible trainings covering topics such as compost building, soil biology basics, or practical regenerative techniques. These sessions work well for school gardens, farmer groups, and community organizations looking for clear, hands-on learning.
Demo Plot Builds
Together, we establish a small demonstration plot that becomes a living learning space for your community. This collaborative approach helps participants see regenerative methods in action and continue building on them long after the workshop.
Core Topics
Compost ecology and different methods of pile building
Soil biology and food web fundamentals
Cover cropping and polyculture design
Seed saving
Syntropic agroforestry principles
Basic microscopy for soil assessment
Who This Is For
Schools and education programs
Farmer cooperatives and youth agriculture groups
Grassroots NGOs focused on food security or ecological restoration
Community gardens and urban farming projects
Any organization wanting to strengthen regenerative skills on the ground
Partnership Approach
I work closely with schools, grassroots organizations, farmer groups, and community leaders across Kenya. My approach is collaborative and relationship-based—drawing from regenerative principles while respecting local knowledge, priorities, and ways of working. The aim is not to bring a fixed model, but to co-create practical solutions that fit your place and community.
If your organization would benefit from hands-on soil education or a demonstration plot to support community learning, I’d love to explore what we can build together.
